- Bridge Street
The
isolated building at 20-22 Bridge Street was originally the Commercial Bank
of Scotland. Built in 1884 it has an early renaissance style.

Further along the street, the impressive four-storey and attic building used to house the central booking hall of the old Bridge Street Station. It predated Central Station as the main passenger terminus of the city. The smaller four-storey building to its right was formerly the Station Hotel.

The
tenement on the corner with Norfolk Street has many interesting architectural
details. Most obvious are the octagonal turret rising from the first floor,
its ‘Glasgow Style’ oriel windows, bold chimney stacks and saucer dome, with
richly carved Edwardian Baroque detail.
