The area bounded by Old Rutherglen Road, Commercial Road and Ballater Street contains the three-storey flats of Hutchesontown Area ‘A’. These were the first to be built in the original redevelopment of Hutchesontown in 1958.

Across Ballater Street are the flats of Hutchesontown Area ‘B’. Part of the second phase of the redevelopment, it is a mix of multi-storey flats and low-rise tenements dating from 1964, all recently re-roofed.
